Audiology Concepts, South Edina
Meet our staff
Dr. Paula L. Schwartz
I believe that the education of the hearing impaired person is paramount to their success in living with hearing loss. I spend a great deal of time in and out of the office educating the public and primary care physicians on the importance of hearing and the proper identification of hearing loss. If an individual receives a thorough, accurate audiological evaluation but is not given the appropriate options in relationship to their loss, cosmetic preferences, lifestyle and budget to address that loss, we as audiologists have failed. My goal and expertise is to work with my patients to help them understand the variety of options available to them, and help them arrive at a decision that is best for them, not necessarily the decision that is best for me. That involves carrying a full line of hearing instrument products. There is no one product line that is appropriate for everyone. The newest in hearing aid technology/cutting edge technology is my specialty. I work with all technologies. Audiology Concepts, Inc. has the most recent diagnostic equipment and hearing instrument technology on the market today.
My relationship to the primary care physician is also a critical factor in the holistic treatment of my patient's hearing loss. The three way relationship between the patient, Dr. and audiologist ensures that the patient's hearing loss is managed medically in addition to the rehabilitation. My goal is to get the primary care physician to include hearing screenings/evaluations as part of the general physical. After the patient referred to my practice is tested, the physician is informed through reports as to the results of their patient's audiological evaluation and amplification choices made.
