Dr. Carey Bailey
Dr. Carey was first introduced into the world of Audiology through a mentorship with her Basic Audiology professor at Marshall University. Through this mentorship, she was able to see the impact that Audiologists have on everyone they encounter. Inspired by the stories shared with her during this mentorship, Dr. Carey changed her projected career path and began working towards becoming an Audiologist.
Dr. Carey completed her fourth-year residency at the Hershel “Woody” Williams VAMC in Huntington, WV, and has provided services in the private sector, hospitals, and ENT clinics. She received her doctorate degree from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio in April 2021 and received her undergraduate degree from Marshall University in Huntington, WV in 2017. One of her main drives is to encourage individuals to be proactive about their hearing health – whether it be treating their hearing loss with amplification when appropriate or protecting their hearing with personal protective devices – and for people to view their hearing health the same way they do their physical health.
Originally from West Virginia, Dr. Carey joined Audiology Concepts in August 2021. She has two cats, Tiberius and CeCe, and has plans to eventually adopt a dog. In her free time, Dr. Carey enjoys listening to True Crime podcasts, binge-watching TV shows and movies on various streaming services, and she plans to read at least 50 books by the end of 2022. If you have any book recommendations, please let her know!
